Your Omaha Professional Fire Fighters, Local 385, is a union affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters consisting of members of the Omaha Fire Department.

That’s an official description of our organization…but in much simpler terms, we’re a group of people that have lived our lives with a desire to help others. Almost nobody accidentally becomes a fire fighter or a paramedic. It’s a competitive field, it’s a tough job, and it draws people that have a legitimate passion for helping those around them during their toughest times.

We are passionate about helping those in our community – both in times of crisis and or on a regular day when we see a kid in a supermarket that looks like they want a fire fighters sticker – and you’ll regularly see us out and about in your community, both on-duty with our blue or red shirts, or off-duty with our union events. We raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help those in our community that struggle with muscular dystrophy; we purchase and donate coats for school children every year; we assist with an affiliated event where we fix bikes to give away free to children annually; and, on a smaller note, we rarely pass up a kids’ lemonade stand in our rigs.

We’re union fire fighters that support our community, support each other, and are never afraid to stand up to advocate for what is safest for our both our citizens and for our members working in a dangerous profession.
