Midlands Voices: Litigation only option for fire union

The writer is an executive board member of the Omaha Professional Firefighters Association.

What qualifies David Nabity (Jan. 17 Midlands Voices) to discuss Omaha Fire Department labor negotiations? He is not, has not been and will not be involved in any of these negotiations.

Mr. Nabity claims to speak for the "citizens" of Omaha without them requesting he do so, all the while challenging the "good, decent and honorable firefighters" to replace their fire union leadership. A union leadership, which in my experience, is good, decent and honorable.

From the top down, these are men who have served their families, communities and country with honor and humility. (Fire Union President Steve LeClair is an Iraq War combat veteran.)
